Lisa Tureson

Lisa’s first public artistic expression was created at the age of four, using her mother’s lipstick and her sister’s bedroom walls. Her Mother, a fine artist herself, had to keep her make-up and teaching studio under lock and key, lest she come home to find vibrant inks splashed across walls, or furniture and fabric covered with charcoal, pastel, crayon or watercolor. Nothing was safe. More than childhood mischief, Lisa made it known that she would be the third generation of Artists in this family.

This nature lingered in the background as a hobby. Lisa was a member of art clubs, and took University electives in art and design. She pursued her degree in Economics and went on to a successful business career. Painting was her relaxation and private refuge. She continued to study and develop her skills in painting until she ultimately retired her business suits for paint smocks.

Lisa pursued a self-directed educational program by identifying American and European Artists teaching the specific techniques and materials of interest. She has continued to refine her skills and acquire new techniques. A native of the New Jersey Shore, her work is often inspired by her love of sea and sky. Her work reflects the thoughtful integration of fine European methods with contemporary style and innovation.

Lisa was voted the Designer’s Top Choice of Decorative Art Studios and has earned awards from the Interior Design community she has always loved. Her work has been seen on HGTV and has been published in dozens of national and local magazines and newspapers. Her works are also in Design Centers around the world and have been featured in numerous Design Show Houses in the Washington Metropolitan area. Her artwork is in the private collections of Businesses, Universities and private clients.

Lisa’s keen eye for color, scale and texture paired with her vast knowledge of materials allows her restless creativity to fashion classical art imagery, abstract expressions, works in glass, mirror, fabric, furniture… and even once, a hand painted driveway.
