From the very beginning in 1978, Sue Broadway, founder of Extra Touch of Class and Broadway Gallery, built her business on quality and service. In a cramped basement room of her townhome, Sue armed herself with a miter box, hand-held matting tool, hammer, glue, and nails to support her picture framing ambition. Due to her creative approach to framing, prompt courteous service, and unbridled enthusiasm for the art world, the business grew from a small shop into a reputable art and framing company serving the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. She soon relocated to its present Alexandria headquarters where a modern, fully-equipped production and warehouse facility was established.

In the years to follow, Broadway Gallery also became a major fine art source exhibiting a variety of paintings, original graphics, mixed media, sculpture and ceramics by local, national and international artists. The goal was to provide customers with a diverse selection of investment and decorative artwork ranging from traditional to contemporary while showcasing its distinctive framing. Art delivery, installation, restoration and appraisal were also added to the gallery services to meet the requirements of retail, corporate, and design clientele.

In 1995, Sue retired from the business and passed the torch to her son, Barry Broadway, and her daughter, Caron Broadway Moody. Barry serves as President, while Caron serves as Gallery Manager and Marketing Director. Both having been raised in the business, Barry earned a business degree from George Mason University while Caron earned a fine art degree from Pratt Institute, making them a perfect pairing to take over. Through economic ups and downs, Broadway Gallery has stayed the course and in 2014, opened its newest location in Great Falls, Virginia.

At Broadway Gallery, our goal is to enhance living and working space with beautiful artwork and quality framing. The Broadway Family’s mission for the future is to maintain the highest standards in the framing and art industry by having the best design and production staff available to meet the aesthetic and budgetary needs of our clients. Today, Broadway Gallery continues to thrive as a complete art service and resource center where personalized service and quality workmanship remain the focus.
