Megan Elizabeth of Art by Megan, is a DC based abstract artist who focuses on themes of nature and dynamic movement in her work. Without any underpainting or sketches, Megan blends a multitude of layers together to mimic the effects of dappled light and contrasting shadows. Her work reflects light on water, tree shadows, fallen leaves, and blowing petals in the wind. Megan balances her collection by alternating between canvas and works on paper.

Broadway Gallery, an Alexandria purveyor of Fine Art, Art Installation and Framing, presents Harmony, a Textile Art Exhibition in collaboration with Sacred Threads, June 1 through August 31, 2022.

Artists selected for the show use the theme “Harmony” as a jumping off point for their pieces. In a time when our world feels chaotic, we look for Harmony in our lives. Curated by Lisa Ellis and Barbara Hollinger of Sacred Threads, submissions considered will use the construct of size as a unifier and follow the Studio Art Quilt Association definition of the medium of textiles: “a creative visual work that is layered and stitched or that references this form of stitched layered structure”.

Broadway Gallery, established in 1978 in Northern Virginia, has provided fine art to the wholesale industry for over 40 years. Working directly with artists for representation to the public, focusing on architectural firms, interior designers, major corporations, foundations, and law firms throughout the D.C. Metropolitan region and beyond.

Sacred Threads is an exhibition of quilts exploring themes of joy, inspiration, spirituality, healing, grief and peace/brotherhood. A biennial exhibition was established to provide a safe venue for quilters who see their work as a connection to the sacred and/or as an expression of their spiritual journey.

Broadway Gallery takes pride in the great artistic talents of our Portfolio Artists, and we are proud to represent these artists through gallery exhibitions, social media and special off-site venues.
