Vicky Vidal Blum

Vicki Vidal Blum resides in Clifton, Virginia, where she focuses on floral, landscape and portrait painting in oils.   “I enjoy expressing the vibrancy of my subjects through color while maintaining the tradition of realism. I call my style ‘saturated realism.’”  Vicki usually paints from life, which is the best way to capture the rich colors of nature.  “My paintings exaggerate these ‘pure’ colors, which the eye often overlooks.  By saturating the colors, the subjects appear more alive.”

Vicki received the Best in Show award at the Art League Gallery in Jan. 2024. She was selected for the American Impressionist Society, 2022 All Members Online Exhibit; was among 10 winners of the Portrait Society of America’s 2016 and 2021 Members Only Competition (Still Life Category); was a finalist in the 2013 International Artist Magazine Still Life Challenge, and featured in élan magazine. Also, she was a finalist in the Susan K. Black “Blossom II” Competition and her painting was selected in the touring museum exhibition; a finalist in the 2013 Salon International Competition and a finalist in the 2011 NYC Salmagundi Club’s Annual Non-member Show. She is also an annual contributor to the Portrait Society of America’s invitational “6 x 9 Mystery Painting” event at its Annual Conference.   Vicki is a member of the Washington Society of Landscape Painters.

Vicki is a frequent exhibitor and seller at the bi-annual Art at the Mill shows in Millwood, VA, and was the featured artist in the Spring 2019. Vicki taught painting at Herndon ArtSpace for many years and also taught at the Lorton Art Center and Great Falls Foundation for the Arts.
