Tricia Ratliff’s paintings reflect her values of healthy living in community, reverence for nature, and gratitude for the time we have on earth. Her intention is to lovingly soak up the local environment by looking, listening, learning and sharing stories. Then, capturing the meaning of the experience in art. Her work is regularly displayed across the country, including in prestigious galleries in Manhattan, on Canyon Road in Santa Fe, NM, and across the Mid-Atlantic region. She travels to paint in residence in the U.S. and internationally.
In addition to creating her fine art, for more than a decade Tricia has taught contemporary and traditional academy techniques in her Northern Virginia atelier program. Many who have graduated from her Agile Arts Atelier have gone on to successful professional careers as fine artists. She has also promoted quality fine art instruction in the region by sponsoring workshops that feature internationally famous oil painters. She is a frequent juror and judge for competitions and exhibits due to her unique feedback approach which encourages success in other artists. Her patronage of the arts includes hosting large Art-Jam gatherings, an art mini-conference, mentoring other artists and launching the grand opening of the Herndon ArtSpace with numerous events including the first annual Paint Herndon Plein Air competition that attracted award winning painters from across the United States.
Today she continues to explore new ways to have a positive impact on others and the earth through her creative work – and welcomes outreach from others who value the same.
