Courtney Kolker, a Washington, DC-based artist, is known for her vibrant use of color in the abstract. She works with acrylic and mixed media, using palette knives, poly foam brushes, and even her bare hands. Her artwork explores the ability of color to arrange and illustrate her perspective of a particular moment. Born in Washington, D.C., she received a BA in communication from Tulane University. Kolker’s wanderlust and imagination is core to what inspires her work- as are the journeys she’s taken around the world. Having visited New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, Israel, Italy, and Dubai, she has also lived in New Orleans, San Diego, and Hawaii. Her work has been exhibited throughout the US, and can also be seen in the 2019 October, November, and December issues of British GQ magazine.
